The Local Enterprise Office Galway has forged a strategic partnership with the Entrepreneurship Society (EntreSoc) in NUI Galway.
This support from the LEO will enable Entresoc to carry out more focused entrepreneurship events and supports for NUI Galway students.
Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office Galway, Breda Fox, said it was critical that young people from all backgrounds saw enterprise as a viable career choice.
“If we are serious about developing an entrepreneurial ethos we must start with our young people. We must listen to their ideas and actively support their innovations, as these can be the secret to the business successes of tomorrow,” she said.
“Our young people need to be open to the idea of creating a new job rather than looking for one. For all of these reasons we have strategically focused promoting entrepreneurship in the education sector.
“It makes good sense for us to support Entresoc whose goals are clearly in line with ours,” she added.
EntreSoc was set up to promote an environment on campus that enables entrepreneurs to develop and expand their ideas.
It acts as a platform to guide and aid entrepreneurs with their projects, offering information on existing supports within the college and elsewhere. EntreSoc invites guest speakers to address students and impart their knowledge and entrepreneurial expertise to their listeners.
