There was a large turn-out of job seekers on hand to benefit from a Career’s Fair organised and hosted by Galway Rural Development, which took place in the Claregalway Hotel recently.
Representatives of Recruitment Companies, Employers, Training and Education Providers as well as State and Public Bodies were present to advise attendees on career and training options.
Expert trainers offered free workshops on CV writing skills, Job Searches and Interview Skills.
“This event provided an informal setting for job seekers to meet potential employers as well as training and education providers,” explained Delia Colahan, CEO, Galway Rural Development. “GRD personnel provided attendees with information on supports and training options which benefit the unemployed also.”
The event was funded by Galway Rural Development Co. Ltd. through its Local Community and Development Programme. The programme aims to assist the unemployed or low income earners to increase their job prospects through provision of training, education and other supports.
