Home and school improvement schemes in Galway extended

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Almost 17 hundred home improvements have been carried out in Galway under the Home Renovation Incentive Scheme.
That’s according to Galway West T.D, Seán Kyne, who says the scheme has been extended until December 2016.
Galway has the fourth highest number of applications in the country for the scheme.
It helps homeowners to make home improvements such as extensions, refurbishment of bathrooms and the fitting of new windows.
Deputy Kyne says the scheme has boosted the construction industry in Galway.
Meanwhile, 230 primary schools across Galway city and county will receive grants for improvement works under the national Minor Works Scheme.
Each school will receive a basic grant of 5,500 euro, plus an additional payment of 18.50 per pupil, or 74 euro per special needs pupil.
Galway West TD Sean Kyne says the funding will be used for improvement works including toilet facilities, windows, roofing and energy works.
