Headford and Moycullen claim West Board titles

Headford took the West Junior A football title at Pearse Stadium on Saturday as they eventually overcame a resilient Aran Islands side led by talismatic midfielder Peadar Einne Seoighe., running out 3-13 to 2-10 winners.
But it was the Meenaghan men who proved key for Headford – as Alan, Sean and captain Niall kicked 1-9 for Tom Flynn’s charges who had to work extremely hard to keep the islanders at bay.
Meanwhile, Moycullen romped to the West Minor A title as they comfortably disposed of Carraroe at Pearse Stadium on Saturday afternoon thanks to a frenzy of goals, running out 5-10 to 2-8 winners.
Carraroe struggled to contain their opponents in every area of the field in the first-half, and despite battling hard after the restart it was too little too late, as they were too reliant on forward Paudie Mac Cormaic who struck all but three of their points.
