The Roscommon-based trad band, Gatehouse, have just released a new CD titled Tús Nua, and the band will be supporting the album with a couple of gigs in the area next month.

The band is made up of John McEvoy on fiddle viola and piano; John Wynne on flutes and whistles; Rachel Garvey on vocals; and Jacinta McEvoy on guitar and concertina, and they have been gigging since 2014 before recording the CD in Belfast earlier this year.

Last year Gatehouse performed live on Fleadh TV at Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann in Sligo, and they have also shared the same concert stage as Christy Moore.

They will perform at Roscommon Arts Centre on Friday September 2; and in The Pillar House in Ballinasloe on Sunday September 11 as part of the Larry Reynolds Irish music and heritage festival.

Tús Nua is on the Gael Linn label and can be purchased in most record shops.
